About Our Travel Program:
The Blue Crab program is designed to prove athletes with a uniquely
challenging and competitive experience. The teams are selected via
conventional trout methods and designed to facilitate "select"
teams. These teams are compromised of highly motivated players who
undergo a very intensive training program, and are scheduled to
partake in a variety of tournaments that bring similarly "select"
teams into a competitive arena. However, tournament schedules are
subdivided into age groups, and specific tournament events are
selected based on the team's unique skill level. The training is
much more intense and is designed to bring out the most from the
athlete. The program begins with the 10's age group and ends with
the 18's age group. Throughout the various age groups training
progressively shifts the emphasis from pure skills development
toward the incorporation of the "winning spirit." These latter
stages are designed to instill the necessary mental and physical
attributes to successfully compete at the collegiate level.
Necessary Paperwork:
The following forms MUST be submitted to Blue Crab:
- USAV Registration form (if not already submitted).
- USAV Participant Code of Conduct form.
- Emergency Medical Release form.
- Blue Crab Contract (upon selection to a team).
- USAV Letter of Intent.
Note:
Players not having completed ALL forms by November 30th
will be considered ineligible for play or practice until all forms
are completed and turned in.
USAV:
Blue Crab pays for USA Volleyball membership for all of its
players, coaches, and directors. When selected to the club, BC will
submit the USAV form for membership. All BC members are covered
under the USAV liability and accident insurance policies. Members
are covered while playing and practicing as well as during other
volleyball related activities including fundraising. BC members are
also covered while traveling to and from sanctioned volleyball
activities.
During the course of the season there may be others forms that must
be filled out prior to participation in certain tournaments. Please
be prepared to return the forms promptly.
